In the wake of the tragic 2012 Sandy Hook event, the world was left grappling with profound sense of loss and shared determination to prevent such tragedies in the future. For me, it was a moment of awakening, a call to action that sparked the creation of Philly Kids Task Force Children's Youth Services, a non-profit organization born from the depths of that shared grief.
Our Mission:
At Philly Kids Task Force Children's Youth Services, our mission is rooted in the well-being of our children. We are driven by a deep commitment to creating a safer, more nurturing world for the next generation.
Our Initiatives:
1. Active Shooter Awareness: In a world where safety is paramount, we believe knowledge is power. We are dedicated to teaching active shooter awareness through comprehensive guidelines and educational programs. We aim to empower schools, educators, and students with knowledge and tools to respond effectively to crises.
2. Back-To-School Drives: Education is the cornerstone of a brighter future. We conduct back-to-school drives every year, providing school supplies and backpacks to ensure every child has the essentials for a successful academic year.
3. Holiday Pop-Ups: The holiday season should be a time of joy and togetherness for all. Our holiday pop-up events aim to bring smiles and warmth to children's faces, offering gifts and festive cheer to those who need it most.
4. Active Shooter Guidelines: As part of our commitment to safety, we have developed comprehensive active shooter guidelines. These guidelines offer practical, step-by-step instructions on how to respond in an active shooter situation. We aim to empower communities with the knowledge to protect our children and ourselves.
